Welcome to my homepage!

My name is Maria José and I am a fourth-year graduate student of the Romance Languages Dept. of the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently working on my dissertation proposal and teaching with technology. Although I am doing my PhD studies at Penn, I got my B.A degree in English Language and Literatures at the University of Alicante. I was born in Alicante (Spain). I have been to different cities in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. There I studied for one semester at the University of Ulster in Coleraine. I lived in the small village of Porstewart. It was actually the longest stay in another country than Spain and I could experience the warmth of the Irish people. A year later, I found myself traveling again to Northern Ireland but this time not as a studen but as a language instructor. My experience as a Spanish language assitant was terrific. My students were excellent and good at learning. I taught Spanish in four schools: Carrickfergus Grammar School, Carrickfergus College, Belfast High School, and Larne Grammar School.
