Neuroscience Outreach Programs
This summer we began a series of powerpoint presentations and animal “exhibits” at the Science Museum of Virginia. Kelly Tu and Ashley Everette did a wonderful job describing their interesting research (see pictures below).
My students and I are happy to do Behavioral Neuroscience programs for local schools—emphasizing brain anatomy, CNS fundamentals of behavior, Evolution and natural selection of the various species of peromyscus housed in the laboratory, and plasticity of the brain and behavior.

In an attempt to disseminate knowledge about the parental brain to a wider audience, I had the opportunity to discuss our findings with Pulitzer-prize winning author Katherine Ellison. As a result, you can read about our Randolph-Macon maternal rodents—as well as additional interesting maternal research (e.g., at the University of Richmond)—in her recently released book: The Mommy Brain—or visit her website at http://www.katherineellison.com. |
